CCC's Associate Directors are key members of the senior team. They bring technical and managerial skills and experience to the leadership and strategy development process.
Alice has lived in Dumfries & Galloway for over 25 years. She has extensive knowledge of the rural community, has been chair of FWAG (Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group) locally and is the founder and chair of D&G Befriending project.
Alice's background is in Environmental Education which she taught in both secondary and primary schools. She is an Eco Schools Assessor and an instructor with the Royal Highland Education Trust.
Alice is deeply committed to raising awareness about sustainable development, conservation and low carbon economies. Together with her husband she initiated and planned a 13.2MW wind farm on their hill farm, which has been operational since 2001. The principles of sustainability are at the heart of their farming business.
As Associate Director, Alice is currently working with Laura as Project Manager of 'Carbon Busters' which involves work in schools with pupils and teachers to help them assess their carbon footprints (at school and at home) and to implement action plans to help reduce them.
